We all know what it means to recycle. But do we really know how many things can be recycled. More than just plastic bottles, computer paper and cardboard boxes. Items such as cardboard and plastic cups. 

Another way you can save the environment, besides recycling your own materials, is by buying recycled materials. 

How are my recyclables picked up on my curb, made into recycled materials?

Lets follow the journey of a plastic bottle:

Once your recyclables are picked up from the curb, they are brought to the local landfill, along with your trash. After being stored for a bit, they are compacted into piles, filled with clear plastic materials with little colorful specks from the plastic labels. Then they are sent to factories and businesses that use the recyclables to make their products.
